WORKSHOP: Courageous Conversations

It can be tricky to know how to talk about our complex - and in some cases existential - crises that we’re facing. And yet research shows us time and again the importance of talking, especially with children.

This participatory and immersive workshop will give you the tools and guidance to hold courageous conversations, offering practical steps and progressive strategies to learn how to talk with young people about the big issues facing people and planet - and why it matters that we do.

  • Develop facilitation techniques to explore the many different aspects of the personal, social and environmental crises that we face

  • Explore and practice the Brave, Safe, Connected framework for courageous conversations

  • Learn how to address eco-anxiety and help young young people to connect to stories of change and feel empowered in their own lives

  • Gain techniques to better understand and respond to the social and emotional development needs of ourselves and young people

  • Explore how to embed these conversations in the curriculum by relating across different subjects

  • Understand practices to help deepen and strengthen resilience and wellbeing
